Accessibility
If any part of this is hard to use, tell us and we will fix it.
Most of our readers are over 65. Some use screen readers, some use magnification, and some would simply rather be read to over the telephone. All of that is normal and none of it requires an explanation.

Ask us for it another way
Anything on this site is available in large print orread aloud over the telephone, at no cost. Ring(866) 827-4241, TTY 711. You do not need to give a reason.
If you need an interpreter, say so when you ring and we will arrange one at no cost to you.
If getting to an appointment is difficult, we will come to you. That has always been how the agency works and it is not an accommodation we make grudgingly.
What we have built in
- Body text at 18px minimum, with nothing smaller than 15px used for real content.
- Colour contrast meeting WCAG 2.1 AA throughout, verified rather than assumed. No information is conveyed by colour alone.
- A visible 3px focus ring on every interactive element. It is never suppressed and never reduced to a colour change.
- Tap and click targets of at least 44px in every dimension.
- A "skip to main content" link as the first thing on every page, for anyone navigating by keyboard.
- Accordions built on the browser's own
<details>element, so they work with a keyboard and a screen reader without depending on our JavaScript. - Every form field labelled, with errors described in words rather than in colour.
- Animation honouring your system's "reduce motion" setting.
- TTY 711 published beside every telephone number on the site, including in the bar at the top of every page.
- Pages that work at any window width without sideways scrolling.
Our target, honestly stated
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We test with a keyboard and with a screen reader, and we check contrast on every colour pair we use.
We do not claim the site is perfect. Nobody who has actually done this work would. If you find something that does not work — a control you cannot reach, text you cannot read, a form you cannot complete — tell us, and we will treat it as a defect rather than a request.
Tell us
